Pallekele Cricket Stadium
Located in Kandy, Pallekele Cricket Stadium is one of the city’s most renowned attractions. Since July 2010, it has also been known as the Muttiah Muralitharan International Cricket Stadium, honoring the legendary Sri Lankan spinner.
Alongside the Hambantota International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele was one of the primary venues for the 2011 Cricket World Cup. Officially inaugurated on 27 November 2009, it has earned the distinction of being the 104th Test cricket venue in the world.
