Wildlife Camping at Wilpattu National Park

Just about 50 km from Anuradhapura lies Wilpattu National Park—one of Sri Lanka’s most remarkable wildlife sanctuaries. Known for its natural lakes, or “Villu,” dotting the landscape, the park is home to nearly 30 species of mammals, including elephants, leopards, sloth bears, sambar deer, buffalo, and various mongoose species. Guided safaris in modern jeeps allow you to traverse the park safely and comfortably while witnessing its incredible biodiversity up close.
